Mouro provides a fixed reference for an event that never holds its form. Withdrawal is not the absence of an event, but another form of its continuation. As water releases the ground, its remaining movement makes the aftermath visible. The sequence gives attention to this less emphatic phase, when force diminishes without immediately disappearing and the return of recognizable form still carries the disturbance of what has passed.
