Patagonia's mountains are encountered through the ground that brings us toward them. Near presences give distance a measure, while changing conditions continually alter what seems enduring. These collections consider the region through relationships between intimacy and immensity, persistence and transformation. The monumental remains important, but it is not sufficient on its own: the character of the landscape also emerges from what holds attention beneath, beside, and sometimes away from its celebrated summits.
