Lofoten - Fractured Surface

A nearby surface can both establish and unsettle the space beyond it. Its divisions offer patterns through which the eye begins to organize the landscape, then interrupt the continuity that those patterns seem to promise. The photographs attend to this shifting relationship between fragment and whole, where the immediate ground participates actively in the perception of distance.
