13.- Lines of Resistance

At La Arnía, within Costa Quebrada, tilted strata, fractured ridges, and exposed rock formations organize the coastline through direction and resistance. Their lines extend toward or oppose the sea, making geological structure visible in the encounter between persistent stone and the repeated movement of water. Tides, weather, and shifting light continually alter the apparent stability of these formations, while their surfaces record compression, uplift, fracture, and ongoing erosion. The sequence follows these lines as both evidence of the coast’s formation and structures continually tested by the sea.
