Mangiabarche, literally “Boat Eater,” refers to the reef off the southwestern coast of Sardinia long feared for its hidden shoals and violent currents. Across volcanic stone, shifting cloud cover, and restless water, the series observes a landscape shaped by collision, navigation, and erosion. The lighthouse appears as a persistent fixed point within an unstable maritime environment where geological force, shipwreck history, and changing weather remain inseparable from the surrounding sea.
