Light Within Stone

Light makes enclosure perceptible while remaining impossible to enclose in the same way as matter. Within stone, its temporary presence gives enduring space a changing emotional character. These photographs attend to that encounter between the material and the intangible, where architecture provides conditions for an experience whose significance exceeds the substance of its walls.
