Stone Mirrors

A small enclosure of water can hold the appearance of a space far larger than itself. Looking into it means encountering both a bounded surface and an unbounded reflection. The photographs sustain this double reading, where intimacy and immensity occupy the same place and the nearest ground opens onto a distance it cannot physically contain.
